Bike Math

One bike purchased two years ago: $69
Shrek band-aid to cover owie: $0.12
Pride on son's face after riding bike by himself for the first time: Priceless

R was realy nervous about riding his bike. The second time out, in the Spring, R wore a lot of his hockey gear (elbow pads, knee pads, gloves) to protect himself from getting hurt. This time out (last week) M gave R a pep-talk explaining that he had to have confidence in himself. As I took the picture above, I could hear R saying under his breath "I can DO it. I can Do it. I can DO it." We've taken him out a few time since and he can even start by himself. R says, " I can ride two miles without any help, maybe even six miles. I'm really good now." I'm so proud of my bike-riding-boy!

Oh R! You CAN do it and you DID do it and you can now ride as far as you want. I'm so proud of you for sticking with it and having the confidence in yourself . . . knowing that you CAN do it! Way to go, M, for the patience and understanding and the cheerleading. I'm so proud, man. So proud. Love the blog S . . . you did good too!

R, you look like a very confident bike-rider, how great you learned how to ride a 2-wheeler! And now you will probably want to ride for miles and miles......have fun, I love you! I hope some day to take a bike ride with you!

You "Rock" R! Love the win win attitude. Beside learning how cool it is to ride a 2 wheel bike, you learned you can do anything you really want to do! Great job M & S, being there there at the right time, saying the right things and
supporting one another. You rock too! xoxoxogram&gramponthelake
ps. Tommy, we think you rock too!
